What are Bach Flower Remedies?

The Bach Flower Remedies are a complete healing system that was developed in the 1930s by Dr. Edward Bach, an English physician and homeopath.

The 38 remedies Dr. Bach discovered are each prepared from the flowers of wild plants, trees, and shrubs. Each remedy treats a specific emotional or mental state rather than a disease or symptom. Dr. Bach believed that emotional states such as depression, anxiety, and fear can lead to illness or interfere with recovery from illness.

Dr. Bach said that everything in nature is simple and provides all that we need to survive. So nature will also provide us with the means to make us well.

The Bach Flower Remedies are gentle and completely safe, with no undesirable side-effects. They are not habit-forming and can be taken alone or with any other medication or treatment.

The remedies can be taken by people of all ages, from infants to the elderly. They can also be used for strengthening and healing animals and plants!

Dr. Bach believed that health and happiness result from being in harmony with our true nature. Our physical health depends on our thoughts, feelings, and emotions. The Bach Flower Remedies can help maintain or restore that inner harmony and bring us back into balance.

Choosing your Bach Flower Remedies

Dr. Bach taught that each person is responsible for their own life and must do the work required to bring their soul and mind into harmony.

Choosing the appropriate Bach Flower Remedies requires that a person go on a journey of self-discovery. They must think about their feelings, reactions, and fears. Getting to know themselves is an important part of the healing process.

Dr. Bach envisioned the Bach Flower Remedies as a method of self-help and self-discovery. He hoped households of the future would each have a full set of remedies so that families could help each other maintain a healthy emotional state.

Bach Foundation Registered Practitioners

One of the roles of a Bach Foundation Registered Practitioner (BFRP) is to be an educator, helping clients learn the Bach Flower Remedies system so they can use it unaided to help themselves and their families.

Another role of a BFRP is to act as a facilitator for each client - listening, asking questions, and making observations that will help the client become more aware of their emotions.
